CEO UNA Hotels & Resorts

Elena David was born in Prato, where she currently lives with her husband Maurizio Ucchino and two children, Lorenzo aged 18 and Virginia who is 12.

She graduated from the Faculty of Business and Economics in Florence with a thesis on the development conditions of Florentine hotel management companies, which gave rise to her longstanding and close bond with this industry.

In 1990 she joined Starhotels and, in the space of a few years, was appointed General Manager. Under her guidance, the company achieved significant results.

In July 2000, Elena David was invited to take part in a new all-Italian hospitality project: in July 2001, under her leadership, the repositioning and rebranding of the original organizational nucleus gave way to the debut of the UNA Hotels & Resort of which she is CEO.

In May 2004 she was awarded the Marisa Bellisario Prize dedicated to “Women in the Tourism and Leisure Business” followed in 2009 by the “IMTL Award”, assigned by the MIB School of Management of Trieste to outstanding figures in the tourist industry.

Also in 2009, Elena David joined the “Women ready for board” project, a dossier on the 70 professionals with the profiles and competencies necessary to operate on Italian public and private boards of directors.
